Wiring for new homes

While some projects involving a home's electrical system might be completed by homeowners or unlicensed handymen (the latter of which is illegal in the state of Maryland) new home construction should always be left to a Master Electrician. Delays in getting work completed can be costly. When there are many different contractors and tight timelines you always want to get an electrician that will complete the work promptly and correctly.

First Point is more than capable of installing the electrical panel, branch circuits, receptacles and connecting appliances for any new home. Our team of experienced electricians are capable of reading blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Additionally we are well versed in the code requirements for all of Maryland and all of the counties and cities we service.

A few of the requirements we will look at

Careful consideration to potential load requirments, including increased demand of home electronics

Examination of the load requirements for the entire home including HVAC, major appliances, lighting, networking, and smart home automation devices.

A larger house requires more outlets, wiring and a larger circuit breaker

Total square footage and dimensions of the house, including garage, basement and out buildings should be taken into consideration before determining the number of outlets required.

Plan ahead for future upgrades to property

Examine the likelihood of room additions or installation of a pool, hot tub or electrical vehicle charging station being added at a later date. Adding additional capacity is less expensive than having to reopen walls after a home is built.
